Go Watch Some Anime!!!
Go watch some anime!!!
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End
Go watch Frieren.
Seriously, go watch Frieren.
Go watch Frieren right now.

It is just that good. The atmosphere, the character writing, the setting, the pacing, the direction of the story, I would give all of it full marks. It feels calm and gentle, like a clear stream flowing through a noisy and messy life. There are no loud, showy twists or obvious suspense hooks everywhere, and yet it is still the kind of show you can keep watching one episode after another in complete peace.
There is not much cruelty for the sake of cruelty, and even battles or character deaths do not try to force huge emotional waves out of you. It feels like we are simply walking through the world from Frieren’s perspective, almost like a player returning after clearing the main quest and now doing full completion, slowly learning about humanity piece by piece. It is wonderful. Go watch it.

Helck
My take is this: it starts out genuinely funny, and then later the sense of despair lands extremely well. That helpless feeling, watching the people around you disappear one after another, watching someone closest to you turn into an empty puppet while you can do absolutely nothing, it really hits.
This is actually an anime with real substance hiding under a cheerful shell. I went in expecting pure fun. The early funny part had already satisfied me. Honestly, would it really have been so bad if it had stayed happy? Why does everything have to chase that much depth?
I was laughing so hard.

This is not what I came here for…
Shangri-La Frontier
A straightforward power-fantasy type of show. Pretty fun. Maybe it does not amount to much, but sometimes pure fun is enough.

The Eminence in Shadow
It is not just another overpowered fantasy. It actually has its own twist. One of the best parts is that watching the protagonist pretend to be a background character is fun all by itself. The absurdly perfect disguises, the multiple identities, the accidental prophecies, the bizarrely intense loyalty and misreadings from his subordinates, all of it keeps finding new ways to stay entertaining. It is much more fun to me than a plain old invincible power-trip protagonist.
(He is absolutely faking it.)
Spy x Family
I do not usually like kids, but I do not dislike Anya. You can just treat her like a tiny chaos gremlin. I also really like the narrator’s voice.

Jujutsu Kaisen
The manga keeps getting stranger and stranger, but the anime adaptation is still very good. Anyone who wants to watch it will watch it anyway.
It really is stylish, though.
KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!
For some reason it feels like this came out ages ago.
The Rising of the Shield Hero
Do not ask me. I did not watch it either.
The Faraway Paladin
I watched half an episode, realized I had already forgotten what happened in the previous season, and stopped. Maybe it is fine. Maybe not. I honestly do not know.
Everything else
Did not watch it.
Afterword
Go watch some anime. These are just the currently airing ones I happened to be following lately. I could probably do a second round on older shows too. There is plenty to talk about. I just do not always feel like writing that much, so this will do for now.
